The Students now enrolled in South Shore High School will not be allowed to attend classes in the New High School building. It has been confirmed that only incoming freshmen will be allowed to attend classes in the new facility at this time and that the current students have been deemed unworthy of new facilities and will be placed in the old south building until they graduation. We the LSC Chairpersons of the four small schools of South Shore schools of Arts, Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Technology feel it’s our responsibility to make you the Parents and Students aware of what’s coming down the road when it relates the currently enrolled students’ educational opportunities. We also feel that it is reckless and irresponsible of CPS to create an atmosphere where violent confrontations could erupt by students treated unfairly and that the students who most need the resources be so unjustly discriminated against because of reasons not within their control. Please join our Network of South Shore Parents, Students and Community for a Town hall meeting. We will invite Chief Area Officer John Thomas and other CPS officials and request a thorough explanation of what the near future holds for our students currently attending the South Shore small Schools. Thursday November 16th 2010 @ 6:00 pm. South Shore North Campus Building 7627 S Constance Ave Chicago, Illinois 60649 Phone: (773) 535-6180 Fax: (773) 535-6088 |
